MyRomanceStory Donates Pink for Zumba & Yoga for Pink!

October was breast cancer awareness month and MyRomancestory.com was one of the many sponsors who supported the second annual Zumba & Yoga for Pink, a fundraiser event, created by Charmaine Gordon, Owner, Synergy Women's Fitness and Synergy Pilates & Yoga (Columbia, MD) and Janice Wilson, Executive Director, The Red Devils (Towson, MD).
Valencia Wood, MyRomanceStory’s Director of Media Development, arrived just after daybreak on Saturday, October 3 at Synergy to kickoff the morning.
Wood delivered MyRomanceStory’s pink bag of goodies valued at $70, which included, copies of MyRomanceStory’s romance graphic novels, Will I Ever Find Love? and Surprised By Love; a pink MyRomanceStory.com Cinch-Pack bag; a pink letter opener; a coffee mug; and a Ty Beanie Baby Giving Breast Cancer bear, which was used as a door prize for the event.
“I was intrigued when I saw the bag and wanted to know more about MyRomanceStory,” said Anne-Marie Dixson, one of the volunteers for the morning and the winner of the gift bag.
Ladies donned their Zumba & Yoga for Pink T-shirts while they dancercised to Latin rhythms. And, the yogis changed yoga postures as often as the heartbeat of the music. Oh yes—and the guys—yes the guys, they supported the event too—stretching and breaking moves right along with the ladies! Thank you guys!

The event raised over $12,000 for the many women of Maryland who’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer. “We were excited to support Zumba & Yoga for Pink to raise awareness for this very serious disease and to make a difference in someone’s life”, said Wood.
Money raised from Zumba and Yoga for Pink helps pay for treatment transportation, house cleaning, meals and groceries, home care, complementary therapies, prescription drug co-payment assistance, and other critical one-time needs.
MyRomanceStory was pleased to donate pink for pink and be a part of the journey to find a cure. In all, this was a very successful day for everyone who participated. Thank you Charmaine and Janice!
