Online Dating Works—But You May Need Help
New Book, The Common Sense Clicker: Guide to Online Dating Shows How To Increase Your Success
August 18, 2011—Bethesda, Maryland
The online dating market is booming. With sales expected to reach $1 billion annually, online dating is no longer limited to a small minority of tech-savvy young people. Parents and even grandparents are getting online to find love these days.
In a poll taken by Survey Sampling International (SSI), some 48% of online dating service or personal ad users end up married, engaged or in a committed relationship. But with so many sites to choose from and so many new dating rules, the whole scene can be quite intimidating to someone unfamiliar with it. Newbies and novices to the online dating scene can now breathe a collective sigh of relief: a new guide has arrived.
The Common Sense Clicker: Guide to Online Dating is a quirky, helpful guide to meeting people online, and takes the reader through the steps needed to make the most of dating sites. It’s a unique look at dating in the digital age and how to use common sense to click your way into finding love.
“I wrote this guide to help people navigate the complex world of online dating and increase their chances of finding true love,” says author, H. Michael Bastien. “The Internet can be a powerful tool when it comes to meeting that special someone.”
According to SSI, the top three primary goals of online dating site users are: to have a committed relationship (32%); meet people and make friends (20%); and have fun (14%).
“Online dating beats the bar scene hands down when it comes to efficient use of your time,” says Bastien. “Not only is it more productive, it's a lot more effective than standing around talking to people you already know at some happy hour. This Guide just makes it a lot easier to be successful online.”
