| This week we welcome another gentleman to our winners' circle. Richard Lawhorn hails from Peachtree City, Georgia. According to that city's website, Peachtree City, founded in 1959, is an award-winning master planned community located just south of Atlanta. Their motto is "plan to stay." From what we've learned about Lawhorn he sounds like a man with staying power. He describes himself as a software engineer on a large commercial website and Habitat For Humanity volunteer construction leader--two tasks that require dedication and commitment. He and his wife just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on January 8, 2008, which is milestone that also requires dedication and commitment. And he's has two stepsons and four daughters as well as two granddaughters. When asked he couldn't pick a favorite MyRomanceStory.com novella, but he did pick a favorite color--blue. According to Crayola.com, people who like blue are calm, relaxed and loyal. Hence the term "true blue". The same is true of his astrology sign of Capricorn. In addition to the previous traits, Capricorns are hard-working, polite, serious and self-reliant. And since this sign is also traditional it's not surprising that Lawhorn describes a favorite night-out as dinner and a movie with his wife. | It won’t surprise you to hear that Springfield, IL’s motto is “Home of President Abraham Lincoln”. But did you know it also claims to be the birthplace of that culinary delight—the corn dog on a stick? Equally important, it’s the home of Jean Stites, who nabs a “Ladies’ Night In” survival kit for week 12 of our contest. In addition to her win, Stites has achieved a number of things that the rest of us only aspire to. She has been married for 51 years and is the mother of three grown children. She tells that she loves all romance stories and that her own life has been a love story. She was a bit rushed when we contacted her so we didn’t get all the details on that last part. But we do know she’s retired and is an avid reader. We’ve learned her favorite color is tan—which is an earthy, dependable color. It’s perfect for shoes, slacks, jackets and more in your wardrobe. Yeah, tan! Stites’ astrology sign is Aquarius. Konstantin Lucas, writer of “The Sensual Zodiac” column describes Aquarians as otherworldly. He goes on to say the Aquarius woman flees from the mundane and the routine, and she has no patience for simple thinking. That may explain why Stites describes her favorite night-out as a fine lobster dinner. For a night-in, she enjoys a good book or video while she munches on her favorite snacks. As many of our other winners tells us, she learned about the “Ladies’ Night In” contest from a friend. Stites’ life has been very hectic lately while a close relative has been in the hospital. | Alecia Gibson comes from Janesville, Waseca County, MN, which is an hour outside the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. It’s also the home of the Janesville Doll House. We make no judgments as to whether this is a haunted house or just a creepy place with a doll in an upper window. We’ll leave that discussion to Gibson and her fellow Janesvillians. Instead let’s focus on what we do know about this week’s winner. Gibson, who is single, describes herself as shy, quirky and resourceful. While most people pick one of our illustrated novellas, the resourceful Gibson dug deep into our collection of Real Life Romance Stories and selected “The Big Surprise—A Stolen Car,” submitted by one of our readers with the pen name lynnbeanie. If you haven’t explored this part of our site you’re missing some funny and heartfelt stories. Gibson tells us her favorite color is cadet blue and we love when someone comes up with a unique selection. After a quick trip to Crayolas.com we know this blue-gray hue was added to the box in 1957 and the personality traits for this color are calm, relaxed and loyal. Not too far off the mark for someone, like Gibson, whose astrology sign is Capricorn. A Capricorn is described as practical, prudent, patient and humorous. | Sandy Yashnyk from Parma Heights, Cuyahoga County, OH is single. She says her only kids are her four cats. She tells us the best way to describe herself is shy, quiet and thoughtful. Yashnyk is a Leo, which Konstantin Lucas, another Leo, says rocks the zodiac. According to Lucas, Leos are exuberant, energetic, and inexhaustible. When asked about her favorite MyRomanceStory.com novella she responded, “How do I choose just one?” She’s correct. It is a difficult question. It’s like picking a favorite from among your kids…cats. | Dianna Schultz is from Makinen, a small unincorporated town in the northeastern part of the Minnesota. Schultz is a widowed mother of two, who describes herself as shy and bashful. She tells us that she’s a Scorpio and that her favorite color is purple. Konstantin Lucas, co-author of “Discovering Your Romance Signs” and author of the “Sensual Zodiac,” explains that a Scorpio is very sensitive. Their sense of other people's feelings borders on the telepathic and they develop a deep understanding of others. So now we know what lies beneath Schultz’s shy, bashful exterior. Her favorite color is hunter green, which reminders her of nature. Baker was born under the sign of Taurus, the bull, which she says explains a lot about herself. Of course we know a Taurus is stubborn by nature, but also loyal, patient, solid, earthy and sensual. For Baker a favorite night-out will include dinner and dancing. And a favorite night-in means curling up with a good book with soft music—perhaps some Anders Holst—in the background. She heard about the contest from her sister. While she’s grateful for that information we don’t know if she’ll be sharing the contents of her survival kit. Well, she is loyal, so she’s probably good at sharing! |

| Week 7 bring us another happy winner in A. Davis, a married mother of two from New Jersey. Davis describes herself as intelligent, funny, quirky, sexy, and a good mother, wife and friend. She tells us that she is a Gemini. As we know a Gemini, among other things, is adaptable, versatile and witty. They are also known to be cunning. That can be an advantage when entering a contest like “Ladies’ Night In” because as we all know the questions aren’t always easy. We also know that Davis likes blue and her favorite MyRomanceStory novella is “Never Say Goodbye,” written by Cynthia Starr and illustrated by Kike Olmedo. She says, “It was such a great read and she really felt Ellen's frustrations.” Not surprising one of her favorite things to do on a night-in is snuggle up with a good book—or maybe a good novella on a laptop! She also likes to watch movies or play board games with her family. A favorite night-out might include time with her girlfriends for dinner and dancing or a romantic dinner and a movie with her husband. She heard about the contest while searching online. While she’s won small things in the past, she says this is an awesome win that she can definitely use. |

| Patty Deleon is from Shoreham, NY, a village in Suffolk County, which is part of the New York metro area. Shoreham is not only famous as the home of our latest “Ladies’ Night In” winner, but as the birthplace of actor B.D. Sweeney. Check him out on IMBD.com if you’re not familiar with his work. Deleon describes herself as the married mother of two children and an aspiring writer. We love writers and books at MyRomanceStory.com so we wish her well with her writing pursuits. She tells us that her favorite MyRomanceStory.com novella is “Namesakes,” written by Cynthia White and illustrated by Gonzalo Martinez. That’s a great read with lots of intrigue and cute little dogs. Deleon is a Libra whose favorite color is black. Libras of course are a sign that values beauty and harmony above all else. They’re also romantic, so I think she found the ideal site in MyRomanceStory.com. Since Libras are also diplomatic she wouldn’t tell us if anything on the site was less than perfect. A fun night-out for her includes gambling. We hope she’s a winner in that area, too. And a fun thing to do on a night-in is watch a scary movie. She also says she is an energetic, helpful person who loves helping children learn. Bosak is a Scorpio who loves blue. As a regular reader of “Discovering Your Romance Signs,” you’d know a Scorpio brings an intense focus to all their undertakings. That’s a great trait when working with children. She loves the idea of the childhood rivals falling in love and later seeing that their children are just like them. Being energetic, it’s no surprise that Bosak’s favorite thing to do on a night-out is salsa dancing. | Jessica Fry is from Silver Spring, Montgomery County, MD, which is part of the Washington, DC metro area. Fry is married, but says she doesn’t have any children yet. She describes herself as silly and fun, which is very much in keeping with her astrological sign of Sagittarius. This sign is said to be jovial and good-humored. Celestine Knight, one of the writers of the Discover Your Romance Signs column, also says Sagittarians are adventurous, open-minded, and extremely cerebral. Fry tells us she loves all colors and her favorite MyRomanceStory novella is “Sweet Seduction,” written by Kay Keppler and illustrated by Enzo Pertile. That certainly is a fun story in which the Roman gods Mars and Venus intervene to bring a young couple together. But we don’t know if Mars and Venus had any influence over Fry’s win in this contest. Fry shared with us that a fun night-out means a night on the town. She can certainly have a fun night-out in Silver Spring with all the great restaurants and entertainment options including live summer concerts and the annual Silver Spring Jazz Festival. For her, a favorite night-in means enjoying a movie with her hubby. She is really happy she learned about the “Ladies Night In” content while online. |

| Paul Petrashko obviously enjoys participating in our “Ladies Night In” contest nearly as much as he enjoys winning. Petrashko was an early winner in the first round of the contest and here he is again in the winner circle for round two. Guess we’ll chalk that up to the luck of the Petrashkos! He must also be lucky in other area since he’s been married to his lovely wife Marianne for 18 years and they have two daughters ages eight and ten. He lives in Fountain Valley, Orange County, CA, whose city motto is “a nice place to live.” This must be true since the Petrashkos enjoy lots of family activities in their area. That doesn’t mean that they don’t enjoy the occasional road trip. A typical night-in for Petrashko is having fun with is girls. He describes his favorite night-out as a dinner and a movie with his wife. Remember lightening does strike twice and you just could be a repeat winner like Paul Petrashko! Horn is the widowed mother of three children and we were happy to hear that her favorite color is pink. If she loves pink then she’ll feel comfortable on MyRomanceStory.com with its various shades of pink, fuchsia and red. She should also enjoy the pink cinch pack that holds all the items in her survival kit. Horn describes herself as easy going, so she’d probably enjoy the pack even it wasn’t her favorite color. She sounds like a true Sagittarius since those born under that astrology sign are good-humored, honest and straightforward.
